Unpredictable continues to impress in NYSCL Division 2B with an emphatic 120 runs defeat of Berbice Boyz in the quarter finals last Sunday. With a cool but humid day at 150 North ground last Sunday Berbice Boyz won the toss and elected to field. This decision proved a major misjudgment of the Berbice Boyz camp as the pitch and outfield proved a perfect wicket for batting.

When play started Berbice Boyz got a quick break through as they got Michael Dookie brilliantly caught at slip off the second delivery of the match by speeder Romel Ragnauth. Steve Dookie came to the wicket and quiet things down by picking up singles. However, in the 4th over Romel Ragnauth struck again when he clean bowled Anand Chatam, leaving Unpredictable at 14 for 2. With Berbice Boyz on top Unpredictable needed to stabilize their innings and that they did with Martin Dookie joining his elder brother Steve Dookie they steadied the innings up on till the half with the score at 77 for 2.

Soon after the beak unpredictable lost Martin Dookie to Nandram Budram for a patient 18. George Persaud came to the crease but did not trouble the score as he was again beaten for speed and was bowled a by Romel Ragnauth. Suresh Persaud then walked into the crease and played his usually game to blast a quick 25 which included 2 sixes and 2 fours. When he fell Unpredictable were 148 for 5 in the 19th over. But then came their Captain Alvin Gopaul and he really took the bowling apart. He wasted no time and in his first over belted 3 massive sixes.

At the other end Steve Dookie continued to rotate the strike but eventually got into third gear but was caught on the boundary for a well composed 53. Alvin Gopaul continued to strike the ball to all parts of the ground but was eventually bowled for a quick fire 60, his second fifty of the tournament.

Unpredictable eventually ended their innings with a challenging total of 211.The pick of the bowlers was Romel Ragnauth who took 5 for 26 and was really impressive. Berbice Boyz start their innings very cautiously but in the second over they lost Azad Hamid bowled by Nick Persaud with the score on 9. Wickets continued to tumble quite frequently as Unpredictable held their catches.

At the half Berbice Boyz was 61 for 6, with really no resistance. After the break Captain Gopaul handed the ball to Suresh Persaud who quickly deceived the batsmen with his speed and had two quick wickets in succession. The only semblance of resistance came from Shazad Hossein who was left not out on 29. Anand Chatram was next given the ball along with Vijay Beresford who did the job of wrapping up the tail. The pick of the bowlers was Nick Persaud who continues to impress as he has been all season with match figures of 4 for 12.
